Description:
This is a good quality and original antique English Edwardian solid oak four section stick & umbrella hall stand, retaining its original tin drip tray, circa 1910, in excellent original condition. The stand comprises a recessed moulded rectangular frame, partitioned into four sections. The frame is raised on ring turned supports, topped with a moulded top and reeded apron. Below, the supports are united by stretchers for additional strength. Fitting neatly within the stretchers is the original removable tin drip tray. The stand is raised on baluster turned legs, terminating on turned feet. The item is solid in joint and ready to use.
Condition Report:
This Edwardian umbrella hall stand is in excellent original condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges, but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The stand has been cleaned and wax-polished by hand, to a professional standard, in our workshop. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination. There is no damage to the oak frame, support columns or feet. The stand retains its original removable tin drip tray, which is good original condition, with a slight dip in the supporting circular steel bar (see pictures). This item is solid in joint and ready to use.
