The set is uniformly bound by the highly regarded Riviere and Son bindery in tan polished half calf over marbled end papers. Gilt decorated spines and top page edges.
Internally the books are clean and bright with light foxing only to the page fore edges. Previous inked ownership signature of Evelyn Hill to front end papers. Externally bumping to corners, and general scuffing, marks and wear to covers and spines. 5 cm hinge split from the base of both sides of volume 9 although is holding firm with no splitting internally to the end papers. 15 cm split along back hinge of vol 7 but with no splitting to end paper (see photo). Partial darkening to some spines.
Height of each volume 21 cm, depth 15 cm and the combined shelf length some 89.5 cm. Un-packaged weight approximately 20.6 kg.
