Cased Pair of Duelling or Target Pistols

Description

An interesting PAIR of early 19th century French DUELLING or TARGET PISTOLS, set within their original fitted brass-mounted burr walnut case.

The pistols, which are in fine condition, feature walnut stocks; engraved steel fittings and damascened octagonal barrels, and are numbered “1” and “2”.

The case is fitted with its full complement of accessories which include: powder flask; bullet moulds; rosewood mallet; ramrod and oil cans etc. whilst the pink velvet lining is original including two “scorch” marks to the lid indicating that these pistols have been returned to their case whilst still hot! French, circa 1810-30. The case measures: 18 x 11 x 3.5ins
