A Large Pair of Late 19th Century Irish Brass Bound Peat Buckets

1900 - 1920
Description

Made from Cuban mahogany and in the 18th century style, this pair of peat buckets are of unusually large size. They retain their original metal liners that are in good condition and the buckets are made from Cuban mahogany. They are a very decent rich country house colour and the bottoms are stamped DUBLIN. Although 1780 in style they were most likely made circa 1890/1910. The brass bands and handles are all in good order. The measurements given are the actual height of the bucket but with the handles raised they measure 74cm (29").
