Description

This is a very good pair of Chinese gouache watercolour paintings on pith which date from the mid 19th Century. The paintings depict Emperor and Empress seated upon thrones with their feet upon a cushion, magnificently dressed. Both paintings are in very good order eith no breaks to the pith and good depth of colour. They are framed in decorative gilt bamboo style frames that measure 25 cms by 20 cms.
