An impressive canteen of cutlery containing 110 pieces, set in original oak cabinet standing on tapered legs finishing on spade feet. The drawer and a hinged lid (with working lock and key) are fitted with a beautifully rich blue velvet that has a place for everything.

Robert F Mosley was a Sheffield based cutlery maker who was the first company to manufacture cutlery in what was to become known as ‘stainless steel.

Mosley, based at Portland Works, had a key role in the history of the development of stainless steel. In 1914 Harry Brearley turned to the company to help make knives from his new rustless steel which they did. Mosley’s therefore became the first cutlery company to recognise the value of Stainless steel cutlery and to produce and market it under the RUSNORSTAIN brand.
