A late Victorian campaign in absolutely barnfind condition with holes and cracks to the bottom it will no longer hold water but it is such a great decorators piece it is best left exactly as it is. One can only wonder at the hierarchy of the British Army, the the upper Echelons of the forces could travel to war in such luxury. This would only be one item to be taken to war among many other many others would be the trunks of silverware, porcelain, camphorwood furniture and writing boxes etc. Hard to believe in todays era. A piece of history in untouched condition.
