This is a lovely 18th century chip carved knitting sheath, probably originating from West Cumbria, with a square chip carved sheath, two ball cages, a carved clip and dated 1768. It has the initials PS and EM so probably commerorating a marriage.

It measures 15cm l x 1.4cm w.
