A British army regulation 1877 pattern foreign service kharki helmet with puggaree wrapping and regimental flash, black red and dark green of Royal Irish Regiment (Princess Victoria''s).
In use early 20thc possibly Boer War period. Original ''Made in England'' outfitters stamp to inner crown, inner lining and chin strap. This model was replaced in 1900 by the ''Wolsey Pattern'' helmet which had a wider and broader rim.

Condition: Some minor black stains. Slight tear to regimental flash. The interior lining has refurbished.
