A fine quality antique 19thc Prussian cavalry officer''s helmet or pickelhaube. This design was created In 1842 By the Prussian King Frederick Willhelm IV. The design was in use throughout the 19thc and the Franco Prussian War, and It remained popular with the soldiers until the advent of WW1. The helmet is all original retaining Its original leather skull lining, original chin strap and appliques, and is in good sound condition.
