Description

This is a very handsome, top quality Victorian pole screen in super order dating from around 1870. The carved solid mahogany tripod legs support a beautiful fluted central column with pole for the rise and fall upholstered screen. The screen itself is beautifully carved with an acanthus leaf detail and has a gorgeous rich colour. The upholstery is in a lovely soft gold and ivory sateen fabric to the front and a soft dusky pink to the reverse. The label on the back states that the original embroidery has been retained inside.

This is a fine quality piece from the high Victorian era and is a most decorative antique item.

The screen measures 44 cms wide by 48 cms deep at the base and is 137 cms in height.
