Fine large mid 19th century whale tooth scrimshaw, dated 1850.The scrimshaw decoration is fine and to both sides of the tooth. On one side is a beautiful picture of a masted ship and on the other a scroll surrounded by foliage and 'Ship Windward 1850'. It has acquired great colour/patina and overall condition is good with no obvious defects.
