An outstanding late 17th Century Olive wood oyster Side Table of rare small proportions having wonderful faded colour and patina.
The top is lavishly decorated with oyster veneer and geometric boxwood stringing. The fabulous original twist legs are made in Ash as is very often the case at this period, the bun feet are later replacements. The clean original drawer linings are made in Oak, the ground wood for the veneer is pine. The table tips up to reveal the kind of clean dry golden untouched surface that we love to see.
