A totally stylish Eavestaff mini piano. This lovely example of a hugely popular design of piano that was painstakingly constructed in the mid 20th century. This fashion icon would grace any room even if it was never played! The absolute epitome of style with exceptionally clean lines and a striking, yet unfussy, true minimalist look. The Eavestaff piano company was established in 1823 at Finsbury Park, London. Brothers Harry and Percy Brasted took over the company in 1925. The Brasted brothers did make their own pianos, but they were not that well respected, so buying the established Eavestaff name made good business sense. In 1928 Brasted merged with Boyd Ltd., and in 1934 they introduced the mini piano. Percy Brasted had discovered a miniature piano made by Messrs. Lundholm of Stockholm, from whom the Brasteds bought the rights. The piano was then made only in England, while Lundholm contracted to import them and receive a royalty on sales. The Eavestaff name was used for this piano, hence the mark of royal approval by Princess Ingrid of Sweden which is featured won this piano. The piano is sold with an accompanying stool which has a flip top and storage centre. These pianos are becoming rarer with each passing year. Make it yours today. £995. Delivery easily arranged.
