Description

A quite exceptional inkwell, the like I have never seen before. Made from solid cast brass, it comes in the form of a Chariot sitting on two wheels which actually turn as the inkwell is pushed.

The decoration is absolutely superb, beautifully executed. There is the original glass liner for ease of re-filling and cleaning (small chip to same).

What makes this even more sought-after is the integral natural bristle pen or nib wipe, still in excellent condition.

A one-time find for the concerning collector dating to around 1860. Measures 6 1/2" long x 4 1/4" wide x 4 1/2" tall at rear.
