Victorian Welsh Slate Folk Art

Description

A rare pair of Victorian carved welsh slate shoes, most likely made as paperweights. A wonderful example of mid to late 19th century folk art, and rare to find a matching pair, each beautifully and realistically carved and nicely decorated to the the shoe and heel.

A lovely pair, in excellent condition, one with two very slight bruises as illustrated but does not detract from such a delightful object.

They each measure 6 inches long
