A 1930's Philips 'Standard' globe. 13.5 inches (34.25 cm) in diameter. Stands 55 cm tall on a turned wooden support which has an inset compass to the circular base. Aluminium median with latitude markings. Some discolouration to the latitudes which is shown well in the photographs. Good patination and has an attractive decorative look.

The globe can be dated to between 1935 and 1939 as it shows Siam (became Thailand in 1939 and Iran which was renamed from Persia in 1935.
