ANTIQUE #SA727146

Nineteenth Century Meiji Period Satsuma Figure Of A Seated Lady

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Beresford Antiques LTD

A late nineteenth century Meiji period Japanese satsuma ware figure of a seated lady. She is in excellent condition throughout. Her clothing is highly decorated with both raised patterning and gilding. The gilding is slightly worn in places as would be expected. She also has crackling to the glaze throughout.

There is one very small chip under the base at the back. This does not detract at all. Please examine the accompanying photos. There is a tiny air bubble on her face which was part of the firing process.
