Victorian Double Sided Folio Stand

19th century
Description

Circa 1840, unusual Victorian walnut and burr walnut double sided folio stand. With two large, slatted, hinged retainers with unusual brass locking mechanism to one end. The flat top veneered in burr walnut and the base with classic Victorian turned, tapering, carved column on hipped, well carved cabriole legs and scrolled feet; finished with central downward facing finial.
