Antique Table Nutmeg Grater - Early Tunbridge Ware - Probably by Wise

18th century
Description

An unusual Regency antique treen nutmeg grater in the shape of a double lidded bowl with a side handle which has been replaced.. The lid has a printed label of a scene from Brighton see front with clouds in the sky. The lid unscrews to reveal the grater and the base unscrews for the storage of nutmegs.
