Victorian Papier Mache Tray on Stand

Description

Circa 1860 and later, mid-Victorian papier-mâché tray on a later stand (mid 1900s). The rectangular tray with shaped edges, black background and hand-painted gilded foliate decoration with finely painted exotic birds in the centre. Supported on a sympathetic ebonised and gilded faux bamboo stand with double stretchers.
