Antique French Tortoiseshell with Gold Pique Coin Purse & Aide Memoire in Case C1850

Description

This is a beautiful Victorian French tortoiseshell coin purse and aide memoire in excellent original condition dating to around the 1850s and in the original presentation case.

The purse measures 3 1/4" (8 cms) x 3" (9 cms) wide and has beautiful gold pique work.

Inside is lined in blue silk all in very good condition and the clasp works perfectly.

The aide memoire measures 4" (10 cms) x 2 1/2" (6.5 cms) with matching gold pique work.

Inside the pages are blank and the case has loops which the pencil sits in to hold it together.

There has been no damage at all and I can find no marks or scratches or other defects.

The tortoiseshell shines brightly and the gold pique is stunning.
