Antique Victorian Oak & Silver Plated Boat Dinner Gong C1885

Description

This is a fabulous antique Victorian oak and silver plated dinner gong in the style of a boat with the gong hanging from a pair of crossed oars.

It measures 17 1/2" (44 cms) tall x 20" (51 cms) from front to back x 5 1/2" (14 cms) across the widest point.

It has the makers mark for Bourne & O'Neill of Birmingham who worked together from 1881 to 1886 making it easy to date.

It has polished up beautifully and is in superb condition with original mallet which has a silver plated shield on the handle with no inscriptions or monograms.
