Large early C20th Italian ‘Grand Tour‘ style carved marble profile in octagonal specimen marble surround frame .

Impressive statuary white marble cameo profile carved in bas-relief, probably depicting Marcus Vipsanius Agrippa , mounted upon a contrasting black marble panel or slab . The white marble octagonal ‘bevelled’ edge frame surround inlaid with 18 different coloured divided specimen marble examples . The outer edge with a moulded profile .

The top fitted with an over-sized bronze hanging ring and fitting.

Marcus Vipsanius Agrippa (64 BC-12 BC) was a Roman consul , statesman , general and architect. He was responsible for many famous Roman military victories as well as the construction of some of the most notable buildings in the history of Rome .
