Antoinettes Heirlooms has dated this piece to the 1920s.
Wild Boar hunting was first recorded in Europe in 700BC!!

This boars head size suggests that this animal was a mature adult and of large proportions.
the whole of the Boars jaw has been kept intact and all of it's teeth are clearly visible and tusks in tact.

The prosthetic eyes that have been used are particularly good with superb attention to detail.
The Hide is still in excellent condition.
I can only find two small points on which I could fault this example of mounted taxidermy, and it is that someone has sawn the small point off the shield, possibly so that the shield could have extra shelf support, And that there is a small scrape to the upper left side of the shield.
However neither distract from this rather magnificent Boar!
I would strongly recommend that you contact me if you have any further questions.
