Pair of Mahogany Plate Stands

1900 - 1920
Description

Circa 1900, pair of mahogany plate stands. With rectangular uprights and large block with scooped out centre for holding plates over shaped fronts, and felt covering underneath which has been packed with lead for stability. The back has a small disk stating ‘Hamilton & Inches Goldsmiths, 88 Princes St Edinburgh’ (either the maker or retailer).
