Antique English Boxed Chess Set - Carved Boxwood & Ebony C.1900

Description

Dating to the Edwardian era, this is a quality chess set complete with a Mahogany box with sliding lid. The blonde pieces are made from carved boxwood and the black chessmen are carved from glorious ebony.

The chess pieces are all well weighted making this a terrific set to play with and each having their underside covered in green baize to protect your board.

A good large size, the King stands 3 1/4" tall down to the pawn, standing 1 5/8". The storage box measures 6 3/4" x 5" x 3". Excellent condition.
