A lovely antique 18th century knitting sheath with carved chain.

The shaft of the knitting sheath has two open lanterns with balls decorated with chip carved decoration. It has a carved date 1767 and BERKS at the end of the shaft. Does this mean it originated from Berkshire?

Two carved hearts and carved clips for the sheath to be attached to the belt.

It measures 47cm in length including the chain x 1.2cm w x 1.2cm d.
