Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Famille Rose porcelain, known in Chinese as fencai, was developed during the Qing dynasty and produced extensively during the Qianlong reign (17361795). It is characterised by opaque polychrome enamels, predominantly featuring pink or rose tones derived from colloidal gold, applied over an opaque glaze.

These items were crafted from high-fired hard-paste porcelain composed of kaolin clay and petuntse. The decoration combined underglaze cobalt blue framing borders with overglaze vitreous enamels fired in a secondary, lower-temperature kiln cycle.

Authentic pieces exhibit precise hand-painted brushwork with minor natural variations, unglazed foot rims revealing fine white porcelain paste, and characteristic glaze pinholes from kiln firing. The overglaze enamel decoration typically displays raised texture and varied light refraction due to the density of the applied pigments.

In modern interiors, these vessels function as decorative accent objects placed on styled bookshelves, mantelpieces, or inside glazed display cabinets. They contrast effectively against dark wood surfaces, contemporary open shelving, or neutral backdrop palettes.

Clean gently by hand using tepid water and a neutral liquid soap, avoiding abrasive sponges, chemical solvents, or dishwashers. Support the vessel from the base during handling rather than lifting solely by the handle to prevent strain on structural joints.
