A flintlock brass barralled blunderbuss by Whitney of Cork, it has an octagonal barrel to the round three stage barrel and bell at the muzzle . The gun is nicely engraved with foliage and geometric designs at the breech, also stamped with London proof marks and signed (Cork ) and stamped with Irish registration marks ‘EC-286 ‘ The lock is signed ‘Whitney’. It has a full walnut stock with engraved brass mounts . The trigger guard is decorated with flowers, leaves and acorn . The brass butt plate is also engraved and stamped with matching numbers ‘EC-286’. Turn ramrod pipe , brass tipped ramrod .
