Two Staddle Stones

Description

Available individually at £325 each.

Two early staddle stones. Originally used to support wooden grain stores above the ground to protect them from vermin. These are originals which are hewn by hand from natural stone. 19th century and later copies are cast concrete and most often have circular columns which taper towards the top rather than the rough square section bases as shown here.
