Original Painted Antique Sailors Orphans Home Sign from Hull

A lovely, original painted pine sign from the large Thanet House on Park Street Hull which was opened in 1867 as a home for Sailor's orphans. This piece of antique maritime history is in superb condition, all original with no alterations. The Sailors orphans home on Park Street was funded largely by Sir Titus Salt, the Bradford manufacturer and philanthropist. The home was moved to another site in 1893 yet the building still stands today.
