19th Century French Napoleon III Tortoiseshell and Inlaid Brass Desk Stand or Inkstand

A 19th century French Napoleon III tortoiseshell and inlaid brass desk stand/inkstand in very good original condition.

This piece consists of a tortoiseshell desk stand intricately inlaid with brass 'boulle' decoration to the top, sides and back.

The stand has two original heavy cut-glass inkwells with metal lids with large pen tray leading down to a solid brass edge drawer below also profusely inlaid with brass work with decorative brass knob and all supported by four ornate brass feet.

This piece is in very good original condition for age, is of stable construction and can go straight into a home or office - it would be a great addition to any desk or writing table.
