Description:
The stand comprises a triangular pediment with clover leaf shaped top and carved face & leaves, above two carved panels depicting mythological creatures, intersected by a gadroon carved support bar. The lower section of the stand features shaped side brackets, connecting the rear of the stand to the base. The base boasts an egg-and-dart carved perimeter and contains a removable tin drip tray. The item is solid in joint and ready to use.
Condition Report:
This Victorian umbrella stand is in excellent and original condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the item. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination. Importantly, there are no missing carvings or damage to the support bar. This item is solid in joint and ready to use.
