Antique Irish Souvenir Inkwell / Inkstand - Dublin

Description

Dating to around 1920, this is a most unusual souvenir inkstand made from cast brass with a crystal inkwell. Obviously made for a lady's desk, the decoration includes a cast Rose and foliage created from enamel on top of the brass.

The removable cut crystal inkwell has a brass collar and is mounted with a further brass mount engraved "Dublin". The base has two "troughs" which act as pen rests for a dip pen when not in use.

Excellent condition measuring 5 1/4" x 4" deep max.
