Finely-carved white statuary marble bust profile study mounted on an oval panel of Sicilian Jasper marble fitted with a brass hanging ring . The Roman Emperor shown in profile wearing a laurel wreath symbolic of his importance and perceived godly status, the head facing to sinister .

The white marble oval study with minor historic repairs to the edge . The Sicilian Jasper marble panel of particularly striking colour and bold striations .

The study possibly depicting the Emperor Vitellius 69 AD .

The marble panel fitted with a patinated brass hanging ring to the top .
