. The exhuberant and opulently dressed figure holding two decorated lobed-edge circular trays for the display of fruit or plants . The polychrome decorated brocade tunic or doublet with a punched or pounced ground textured finish , a silk sash tied around his waist and hose , a turban on his head. The well-balanced carved wood figure depicted standing upon the prow of a traditional Venetian gondola .

The faux red marble decorated column base with a carved and gilded swag of opulent fabric and a tassel or lambrequin. The whole raised on a square ebonised faux black marble plinth base .
In good original condition with minor rubbing and losses to the polychrome painted decoration commensurate with age and use .

A well-executed copy of a fine and decorative C18th Venetian servant figure in elegant and dramatic pose . Exotic and flamboyant decoration for a hall or staircase.
Constructed in two sections for ease of movement .
