Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

British art pottery emerged during the late nineteenth century, reflecting the influence of the Arts and Crafts movement and a departure from mass industrial production. These pieces often feature hand-moulded or relief-decorated earthenware finished with vibrant, experimental lead glazes.

Victorian ceramic stick stands were typically cast or hand-thrown from earthenware clay, then decorated using low-relief moulding or press-moulding techniques. Richly coloured majolica or monochrome glazes were applied to accentuate the tactile surface details.

Authentic pieces usually exhibit impressed makers marks, registration numbers, or painters initials on the unglazed base. Additionally, authentic nineteenth-century examples display characteristic glaze crazing, heavy earthenware body weight, and minor irregularities indicative of hand finishing.

Position the ceramic stand near an entryway or within a porch to function as a storage vessel for walking sticks and umbrellas. The bright turquoise hue also makes it an effective focal point against neutral walls or beside dark wood hallway furniture.

Clean glazed earthenware using a soft, damp cloth with mild soap, avoiding harsh chemical cleaners or abrasive pads that can scratch the glazed surface. Ensure the interior remains dry, using a removable plastic liner if wet umbrellas are stored inside.
