Fine Pair of Regency Silk Needleworks

A fine pair of Regency period needleworks in silk stitched on silk. The pair show two ladies each engaged in rural pursuits, one is fishing and the other heading out to the fields. The pair are exceptionally fine both in the artistry of the painting, design, and in the quality of the sewing. The pair are in good condition there is a slight fade to the colours and some minor splits to the silk background but overall they are extremely good with no holes. The pair retain the original verre eglomise glass mounts, and the gilt frames are the original also. The pair have a great period country house look and are wonderful examples of the type. C.1820.
