An interesting and rare late 19th century Victorian COLLECTION OF MINERAL SPECIMENS.

The mahogany box opens to reveal a series of three trays, each of which contains 30 different minerals, all numbered and labelled with their descriptions and making a total of 90. Good condition and complete. The box measures:13.5 x 11.5ins and 7ins high. (34.25 x 29.25 x 17.8cms)

*** This is a professional collection; apart from being numbered, many of the minerals have applied paper labels showing the origin (G. B. Sowerby of Regent St, London) and the price. Some individual items cost more than a week's wages!
