Welsh Pine Cradle, Montgomeryshire, Circa 1780

18th century
Description

Lovely cradle in pine and of panelled construction , with a shaped hood with finials to one end, and a base with an ogee-shaped top and turned posts at the other end, with solid baseboards and supported on rockers.

(Some old woodworm; sliver inserted into the rocker at the base end; some loose joints).

Old shellac finish which is nicely worn through in parts. Would benefit from a good wax polish.
