Gilded and Carved Gesso Wall Bracket

Description

Circa 1890, unusually large gilded and carved gesso wall bracket. With shaped top featuring simple moulded edge beneath, it is held in place by an elaborate design of an eagle or hoho bird surrounded by foliate carving and C-scrolls. Finishing with a small shaped leaf to the bottom, it has its original gilding.
