Handsome Antique English Brass Inkstand / Inkwell C.1880

Description

A very decorative Victorian Inkstand dating to around 1880, professionally re-polished to gleam.

The stand sits on four decorative feet and the attractive outline of the tray finished with a ribbon and reed design.

Unusually the crystal inkwell slides out to either side and the hinged lid is actually integrated to the stand rather than the glass itself. There is a plethora of foliate decoration around the inkwell and an oval cartouche to the front holding the inkwell in place.

All in excellent condition (a minuscule chip to one base corner of the inkwell, insignificant and does not show but mentioned for accuracy). The tray measures 8" x 5 1/2".
