Very decorative pair of French walnut and parcel gilt Louis xv style curtain pelmets, circa 1900.
Beautifully carved and well gilded, with the gilding ageing down nicely over time.
There are some losses to the carved and gilded parts, so please do make sure you have seen the photos...mostly to the central carvings and then just the ends. They may well be something you live with as you see them here, or you may like to restore them fully. ( personally, I think they''re lovely as they are ).
The pelmets could be converted into two large headboard panels perhaps, as they are just a few cm''s off superking width. Otherwise, just to be used as wall hangings or as intended originally, to give a bit more decorative interest to a pair of windows.
Priced as the pair together.
Measuring:
9'''' or 23cm high
69 1/2'''' or 176.5cm wide
4'''' or 14cm deep
