Pair French Mother of Pearl Opera Glasses - Extending Lorgnette Handle

Description

A wonderful pair of French Opera glasses dating to around 1890, late Victorian in era.

The frame is made from a silver coloured polished metal with a few flourishes of polished brass .. at the end of the handle and the large domed screw attaching the extending handle to the glasses.

The glasses are clad in ever-popular iridescent Mother of Pearl shell including the eye pieces, handle and focus wheel. The telescopic handle measures 4 1/4" in length and when fully opened measures 8" in length.

The optics are good and clear .. and the glasses in all round excellent shape coming complete with a velvet drawstring bag (new) for their protection. 4" wide and standing 2 1/4" when closed.
