Good Antique Chess Set in Ebony & Boxwood on Malachite Board

1900 - 1920
Description

This is a good quality antique chess set with a fine set of hand turned and carved pieces in solid ebony and boxwood datinfg from the early 20th century. The pieces are in excellent condition and have aged nicely, with a good colour and lovely patina. The board is a super quality malachite with the most fabulous figured grain with solid brass stringing. The board measures 33 cms in diameter and the King is 10 cms, pawns 5 cms in height.

Rams Head Antiques is a family business based in Wolsingham in Weardale where we have had shop premises for 28 years. The shop is generally open every Saturday from 11 am till 3 pm.
