.The balance beam cast "W. & T. Avery BIRMINGHAM ' , the scales and a set of polished brass weights 16st. to 1st ., the height measuring to 7 feet.

The shaped moulded edge base with the step upholstered in its original carpet or Kilim covering with studded trim . The base fitted with a small flapped compartment. Raised on rectangular block feet .

Established in Birmingham in 1818 , W & T. Avery Ltd., is a renowned British manufacturer or weighing machines and scales . In 1885 the company bought the legendary Soho Foundry the former steam engine factory of James Watt & Co..

In excellent original condition.
