Fine Gothic Mahogany Hanging Wall Bracket C1840

Description

This FINE GOTHIC MAHOGANY HANGING WALL BRACKET, with castellated canopy and semi-circular base, dates from circa 1840.

The centre panel and the flanking pilasters have arched moulding to the top, in the Gothic style.

It stands a magnificent 54 inches (137cm) high and is fitted with two hanging plates at the back.

The MAHOGANY has a deep, rich colour and good patina.

We have photographed the bracket with an Etruscan Lamp to give some idea of scale. The semi-circular shelf would be equally suitable for displaying a clock, lamp, sculpture or a flower arrangement.
