A fine and unusually large early 19th century SILKWORK PICTURE in very good original condition.

Complete with its original ornate gilded frame (which shows no signs of having been disturbed) it has retained all of its bright sparkling colours and depicts a biblical scene ~ perhaps Rebecca at the well ~ with further figures and a town in the distance.

The needlework is exquisite, with longstitich; cross-stich and stumpwork techinques being used. 25 x 22ins (63.5 x 56cms) including the frame; the image: 18ins x 14.5ins (45.5 x 37cms). *NB: apologies for the reflections caused by the original glass!
