Description

Made by the renowned London Firm of CLARK, 33 NEW BOND STREET, and stamped in gilt to the inside and to the back of the lock, this LEATHER BOOK SAFE dates from circa 1910.

It was probably used to lock away private correspondence. It bears a BRASS 'E' to one side.

The plate of the unusual lock drops down when opened.

There is some fading to the leather on the outside giving added character to the BOOK. A lovely quality piece.
